Our training sessions are primarily held at the SOPAC Warm-Up Track at Sydney Olympic Park, with our backup location being St Luke’s Oval, Concord. We also offer sessions at Gooden Drive Reserve in Baulkham Hills, making our coaching more accessible to athletes in the Hills District.
Occasionally, sessions may be relocated due to weather conditions or venue availability. Any changes to training locations will be communicated to athletes and parents in advance.

Our Next Gen Athletics sessions run for 60 minutes and are designed to develop athletic ability, improve technique and build confidence in a supportive training environment.
Each session typically includes:
Warm-up: Dynamic movements and mobility exercises to prepare the body for sprinting and jumping.
Skill development: Technical drills focused on developing efficient sprint mechanics, acceleration, speed and jumping technique.
Main training session: A structured program tailored to the session’s focus, incorporating sprinting, jumping, power development and athletic performance.
Cool-down: A short cool-down to finish the session and help athletes transition out of training.
Sessions are adapted to suit each athlete’s age, experience and ability, ensuring everyone is appropriately challenged while developing the skills and physical qualities needed to become a better athlete.
Whether your goal is to improve speed, develop explosive power, refine your technique or build a strong athletic foundation, every session has a purpose!

At Next Gen Athletics, we offer both group training and private coaching to suit different goals, preferences and budgets.
Group Training – $26 per athlete, per session
Our group sessions provide a fun, supportive training environment where athletes can develop their sprinting, jumping and athletic skills alongside others. Sessions combine individual skill development with the motivation and camaraderie of training as part of a group.
Private Coaching – $100 per session
For athletes looking for a more personalised approach, private sessions are tailored to individual goals, experience and ability. Sessions can be booked as one-on-one coaching or shared with friends, siblings or teammates, making them a great option for families who would prefer to train together. Up to four athletes can participate in a private session, with the session price shared between participants.
Whether you prefer the energy of group training or the individual attention of private coaching, we have options to help you reach your athletic goals!

What happens if it rains or a session is cancelled?
Rain doesn’t stop us from training! We have access to undercover areas at Sydney Olympic Park, Homebush, and St Luke’s Oval, Concord, allowing us to adapt our sessions to suit the weather conditions.
If conditions make track training unsafe, we’ll move to an undercover area where possible and adjust the session accordingly. However, if weather conditions are unsafe for training altogether, the session will be cancelled. We’ll notify athletes and parents as early as possible and communicate any rescheduling or make-up session arrangements.

Absolutely! Our sessions cater to athletes of all abilities, from beginners learning the fundamentals of sprinting, jumping and throwing to more experienced athletes looking to refine their technique and improve performance. Training is tailored to each athlete’s experience, ability and goals, ensuring everyone can develop confidence, build skills and progress at their own pace.
-
At Next Gen Athletics, we generally recommend starting with two sessions per week to build a solid foundation, develop technique and allow your body to gradually adapt to the demands of sprinting and jumping.
For those looking to get the most out of their training, we also recommend incorporating a strength training session into your weekly program. Strength training helps develop power, improve athletic performance, build resilience and reduce the risk of injury.
As you progress, you’re welcome to increase the number of sessions you attend depending on your goals, experience, and training history. Whether you’re just starting out or working towards specific performance goals, we’ll help you find a training frequency that allows you to improve consistently while balancing recovery and other commitments.
